Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman looks forward to serving Oxford for many more years to come.
WOODSTOCK - Oxford County MPP Ernie Hardeman shows no signs of slowing down.
Applause could be heard outside the venue as Hardeman took the stage to thank everyone for attending the anniversary of his election in 1995. Heart FM spoke with Oxford's MPP to review his shining moments in office. "The CT scanners in our hospital. In Ingersoll we got the overpass over both the river and the train track. Passing the Carbon Monoxide Bill - just last week I met with the Brampton Fire Department who had just rescued 2 people because their alarm went off. They were rescued and saved."
Hardeman extended his gratitude to the supporters who have always been behind him. "I appreciate that support, and I do want to say this celebration is not having done this for 20 years - the celebration is to say thank you to them allowing me to do that now." Oxford's MPP admitted that his biggest fear was that no one would attend, but that was not the case as anywhere from 200-400 people took part in the festivities.
"The plan moving forward is to keep doing what I have been doing in the past," says Hardeman. "I was somewhere the other day and there was a sign on the wall that said never look back, looking at the past is not the direction you're going. We're going forward so I am going to work on that. Today is not the last day of the 20 years, it is the first day of the next 20."
