Residents of Oxford County have the opportunity to learn about how to save money. A pair of speaker sessions are happening this month, with the topic how to make your home our business more energy efficient.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Future Oxford speaker series is back.
There will be two events taking place September 20th and 21st, which are organized by Smart Energy Oxford.
County Councilor, David Mayberry says that the event on the 20th will focus on the residential side of things.
"What we will really be talking about is around the energy audits, and hiring someone to come in to look at your home or apartment from an energy consumption perspective. Then to help guide you through the steps you might want to do to save energy."
The second event on September 21st, will have Energy Analyst at Vuteq Canada Inc., Edwin Kow, and Director of Capital Projects at Woodstock Hospital, Chris Marion speaking.
Mayberry explains the main topic of there session.
"They are going to share some of their experiences, what they have done at the hospital in Woodstock, and what they have done at Vuteq to reduce energy consumption, and therefore improve their bottom line."
The Ingersoll Library will be hosting the event on the 20th, which runs from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., while the 21st will take place at the Council Chambers in the County Administration Building from 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The second event will also be livestreamed, for those that are not able to attend in person.
If you would like to attend, you are asked to register online at www.futureoxford.ca.
