Oxford County residents have a chance to give their input on a Community Sustainability Plan.
OXFORD COUNTY - The FutureOxford community campaign is entering its final phase. The campaign is seeking community input on how to build a sustainable future for new generations in the County. Several FutureOxford workshops are being held starting today in Beachville with two more to follow in Tillsonburg and Woodstock.
"We're just looking for people to say 'do you like what's in it so far?', 'are there things that are missing?', 'do you like the goals but have issues with some of the strategies?," said Chris Friesen, Chair of the Community Sustainability Steering Committee.
The purpose of the plan is to use it as a guideline when making decisions that could impact the quality of life of County residents long-term. Three areas are being focused on in the plan.
The public engagement campaign began in November of 2014 and a series of events were held to gather input. Once the plan is finalized it will be presented to Oxford County council in July. If accepted it will be used as a reference for local municipalities, community groups, and industry partners.
Workshops are scheduled for:
