Kids in Ingersoll are lucky to have a place to go after school to hang out, have fun and meet new people.
INGERSOLL - The Fusion Youth Centre has started a youth recruitment strategy for 2016 as they try to boost their numbers.
So far it has been working as they have 45 members this year which is up from 19 last year. Technology coordinator at the centre Matt Power tells Heart FM about some of the programs they offer at the Fusion Youth Centre.
"It includes music programs, art programs, technology, we have cooking programs as well as fitness and sports programs so we really have something for everyone."
Power says all of the programs are designed by youth, for youth and they provide a safe place to hang out and have fun after school.
"We started going into the schools and going to the assembly's there and that has been really helpful going into the local schools, we also had parent participation night for the parents to come in and see what we are doing here."
One thing they have noticed is they have been getting more males to the centre than females and hoping to attract more females in the future to have that balance. The Fusion Youth Centre only costs $5 to sign up and it provides a fun safe place for kids in the community to hang out, have fun and meet new friends.
