The City of Woodstock will be hosting its first ever Fall Fest in Museum Square this Saturday.
WOODSTOCK - The first ever Fall Fest is about to takeover Museum Square in Woodstock.
Manager of Special Events Kristen Broadhagen says the city will have lots of fun events for the whole family to enjoy from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. tomorrow.
"We have fall themed inflatables on site like a corn maze and toxic leaps and bounds. We also have a petting zoo, touch-a-tractor, meet and greets with Halloween characters, multiple Casper's Craft Corners, and lots more fun taking place!"'
She says the kids will be excited for the Trunk-or-Treat from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
"It's a spin on the classic trick-or-treat of course but people bring their vehicles on site, decorate their trunks, and have our candy to the trick-or-treaters!"
The trick-or-treaters will receive a free City of Woodstock tote bag to collect their candy.
Some of the other activities include an urban pumpkin patch where you can pick and carve your own pumpkin, a mini ferris wheel, dance demonstrations and a 1974 VW Photobooth Bus. There's also going to be a HOWL-O-Ween Dog Parade from 2:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. with prizes awarded for the Best Costume and the Fan Favourite. Each dog participant will receive a free cookie from PetSmart.
Haunted Jail Tours will be taking place every hour from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., but you have to register online in advance.
Fall Fest is free to attend and you can find more information online here.
The plans for Fall Fest first started in October of 2024. Woodstock City Council voted in favour of eliminating the Woodstock Easter Egg Hunt and replacing it with a fall themed event in the downtown core.
Kristen Broadhagen stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Thursday October 2nd. You can listen to the full interview below:
