Innerkip Firefighters hosting a breakfast Sunday morning for the Alzheimer Society
The Innerkip Firefighters are preparing to put on their aprons as they serve up a community breakfast Sunday morning
Innerkip District Fire Chief Phil Buzzell says the breakfast is being dedicated in honour of retired Deputy Fire Chief Rob Lewis.
"Rob is battling Alzheimer's right now at the age of 59 so we just want to help, whatever we could do. He has been on the department for 16 years so we thought we would do a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's so we thought we would put on a breakfast."
Buzzell says the firefighters are ready to serve up a feast.
"We have a great buffet, it's $9 for the adults and it includes coffee, tea, juice, peameal bacon, sausages, hashbrowns, homefries, english muffins, pancakes, we have a good variety of foods there."
"We figure on a good number of people. Normally we have 300-400 out so we're hopefully going to be over the 500 mark this year to help the Alzheimer Society."
The event runs from 8am - noon at the Innerkip Fire Hall.
Breakfast is $9 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under.
