Local Green Candidate Mike Farlow was successful on his half of the candidate challenge
INGERSOLL - It took him just thirty minutes to get a written response from Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner.
As we told you earlier in the week, local Green candidate Mike Farlow challenged the other candidates to call get their party leaders to write a letter in opposition to the proposed Walker Landfill.
At Monday night's debate Farlow produced his letter along with NDP candidate Bryan Smith.
"I think it would have meant so much to have all of us saying that our party leader put in writing that they will stop this dump. Then it would have meant that whomever was elected in Oxford County would then be able to go to the party leader and say alright, here is the written document, make it so and the dump would be stopped."
"Mike Schreiner was the first party leader to come to one of the CLC (Canadian Labour Congress) meetings and he has been against it right from the very start."
Farlow says while he was successful, he will still be donating $100 to a local charity.
