Change comes as a result of re-branding campaign which began in summer of 2013.
LONDON -- Fanshawe College and its campuses are undergoing a re-brand. The new appearance was announced Wednesday by College President Peter Devlin at a press event in London which was live-streamed to the school’s satellite locations in Woodstock, Tillsonburg, St. Thomas and Simcoe.
"Fanshawe has been the go-to place for successfully navigating change for almost 50 years," says Devlin. "Our look may have changed, but our commitment to unlocking the potential of students, staff, alumni, businesses and communities continues as strong as ever."
Fanshawe has dubbed its redesigned logo “NorthStar” because of its visual and symbolic link to the star famous for helping generations of travelers find their way. The new logo was the favourite in an online survey of students, staff and alumni.
"The time is right for us to do this," says Devlin. "Competition is increasing, demographics are changing and colleges have to strengthen their reputation to ensure long-term success. In response, we have developed a clear, compelling and distinct profile and story – now watch what we do with it!"
The change might be over-do -- the college hadn't undergone a significant re-brand to it’s logo since 1981, when the school settled on four stylized “F’s” to represent the four counties served by Fanshawe’s campuses. Its new "NorthStar" logo is a dynamic reinterpretation of that symbol with the letters being turned outward.
Changes to Fanshawe’s evolving identity aren't limited to a new logo, the school’s home page has also been revamped to reflect the change. The school’s motto is also new -- with Fanshawe promising “to educate, engage, empower and excite.”
The college’s imaging makeover began in the summer of 2013 and is the result of input gathered through a series of online and in-person surveys.
Fanshawe also confirmed upgrades to the school’s indoor and outdoor signage at its member campuses will be changing gradually as well over the coming year.
