Drivers are being told to be extra cautious around corn fields where tall stalks might limit their vision.
Corn is in season and many farms in rural areas of the region have tall corn stalks.
This can present some problems for traffic as the corn can obscure sight lines and block the view of traffic on cross roads. OPP constable Kees Wijands tells Heart FM they have had numerous collisions in the past where this was a problem.
"We get our stop sign controlled intersection collisions and people will not always say it but it's sometimes difficult for them to anticipate beforehand that there is other traffic coming or that there is a side road."
He says they are just reminding people to be extra cautious at those rural intersections and make sure the path is clear before proceeding.
"It kind of compromises the safety of the motorists and it is something we can't help. It's something that is just kind of there and it is something that we have to live with in a rural area and make sure we take those extra precautions."
