Keeping up with the World War II theme, a cul-de-sac in the Lansdowne Meadow subdivision has a new name.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has chosen a name for a new street in the northeast end of town. The cul-de-sac located in the Lansdowne Meadow subdivision has been dubbed Moro Place.
Mayor Trevor Birtch says this name follows a pattern in Woodstock of naming streets in certain areas after a theme.
"This name that was chosen is very fitting with that subdivision area because it is named after events from World War II."
There's a section of town that is named after birds and a section that's named after provinces.
Each potential street name is carefully selected from a special list beforehand. This list contains name ideas ranging from veterans to local dignitaries and historical figures.
