The community is encouraged to learn some valuable crime prevention techniques and ways to possibly help police at a free information session tonight.
TAVISTOCK - The Oxford OPP is hosting a free Crime Prevention seminar in Tavistock.
Helping Reduce Crime, One Step at a Time is happening tonight, Tuesday June 11th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Tavistock District Recreation Centre.
Topics will include: Fraud and Identity theft prevention, property crime and trends; Crime Stoppers; Lock It or Lose It campaign; Online Citizen Self Reporting; Safeguard Ontario; Mental Health Engagement and Response Team and Steps to Take to Secure your Home/Valuables.
Detachment Commander Inspector Tony Hymers says he hopes everyone will take advantage of this free event.
"This event is FREE and open to all residents of Oxford County and is an excellent opportunity for all community members to assist with Helping Reduce Crime One Step at a Time in their neighbourhoods. We look forward to seeing everyone there."
