WOODSTOCK - Operation Sharing's Coats for Kids is going to look a lot different this year.
One of the organizers for the campaign Marilyn Schiemdl says they will be distributing the items by appointment only throughout the month of November.
"So you can contact us and give us your age, gender, coat size, pant size and boot size and their will also be hats and mitts available."
Normally Operation Sharing would have all of the winter clothing laid out at their location on Peel Street and families could come and in a choose their own stuff. They decided to move away from that model this year because of COVID-19. They also do not have as many distribution places in the Friendly City this year.
You can still donate winter coats, booths, hats and mitts at the Operation Sharing location in Woodstock inside the College Ave Church every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
They have a real need right now for winter boots, hats and mitts. You can set up an appointment for winter clothing by calling Cathy Stevenson at 519-525-4862 or at her home at 519-533-5394. You can also call Marilyn to arrange an appointment at 226-228-1022. If you don't get a hold of anyone right away, you can always leave a message.
