Brant County Mayor David Bailey says he denounces violence, racism and systemic discrimination and he'll continue working every day to do the right thing for the community.
BRANT COUNTY - Brant County Mayor David Bailey issued a statement today in regards to racism and inequality.
He says we need to work together to peacefully dismantle racism and he stands in solidarity with the African-American community.
Thousands of people have protested across the United States and around the world following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Today, there will be a Black Lives Matter protest at Victoria Park in Woodstock beginning at 12:00 pm.

"I add my voice to speak out against the long-standing racism and inequality that exists. I denounce violence, racism and systemic discrimination. We need to work together to peacefully dismantle racism. Everyone has the right to expect fair and equal treatment. We need to strive to do better and ensure equality in all forms. I stand in solidarity with the African-American community. I grieve the reoccurring violence. I pray for the opportunities for communities to heal. I will continue working every day to do the right thing for this community; to foster love, respect, equality and unity for all citizens."
