Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll Tillsonburg and District is hoping to recruit a few good men to their team.
INGERSOLL/TILLSONBURG - The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll Tillsonburg and District has launched their Step Up program.
They were able to launch the recruitment drive thanks to a donation from the Boston Pizza Foundation. Resource Development Coordinator Nicole Killaire tells Heart FM they are looking for a few good men to sign up.
"So what we are doing is we are targeting the male recruitment for some more male mentors in our community and along with that comes our Game On program. So that is in the schools, it's 7 weeks long, it's 1 hour a week, so we are looking for male mentors to help with that."
Game On focuses on teaching the male youth in our community about healthy lifestyle.
Executive Director Deb Langdon tells Heart FM they really need more men to sign up.
"We always have a waiting list of young boys, some that have to wait several years, so that's why we have our group programming to have that available for the children while they are waiting to get matched. So not only are we looking for the Game On program, in school mentoring as well as our Big Brother program."
Big Brothers Big Sisters will be making the official Step Up announcment on Tuesday August 29th. We will have more information for you then.
