A little girl's 'Stranger Danger' knowledge was put to the test after a man in a van tried to convince her to take a ride.
The OPP are looking in a report of child luring.
On Monday, December 19th an 11 year old girl was approached while walking home from school in Listowel. The girl was near the intersection of Nichol Avenue South and Main Street East when a white van pulled up beside her. The passenger opened up the door, called out to the girl, and offered candy if she agreed to take a ride with him.
The smart little girl kept her distance and took off running home where she immediately reported the incident to a parent.
The suspect is described as a white man with a brown beard, possibly in his 30s, wearing a black ski mask, a large black hat, a black winter coat, black snow pants, black mitts, and black boots.
The van was a white passenger van, possibly an older Ford Econoline, with several scratches and rust spots on the passenger side door. The van has large side mirrors.
