A short standoff in Plattsville ended in the arrest of a 38-year-old man. Police were called to a home in the village around 7 o'clock last night, on reports of a woman who had been assaulted. Officers attempted to arrest the man, but he refused to come out, and barricaded himself inside the home. Police cordoned off the area and negotiated with the suspect. He emerged around 8:30, and was taken into custody. He faces numerous charges: Assault (2 counts) - Section 266 CC Forcible Confinement - Section 279(2) CC Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose ? Section 88 CC Mischief ? Section 430(4) CC Assault Police (2 Counts) ? Section 270.01 CC Obstruct/Resist Police ? Section 129(a) CC His identity is not being released to protect the ID of the victim.
