Woodstock Police will be on the lookout for impaired drivers this weekend.
WOODSTOCK - St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner!
The Irish holiday is coming up on Monday March 17th, so Inspector Jamie Taylor with the Woodstock Police Service says lots of parties and celebrations will likely be taking place this weekend.
"There will be a lot of people who are out celebrating and enjoying this Irish traditional. Alcohol may be a factor, so we want everyone to be responsible and make sure they have a ride home safe. The police will be out enforcing laws."
He stresses the importance of making sure you get home safely.
"If you're out and you're going to be having a few drinks, we want to remind everyone to drink responsibly. You should plan ahead, have a designated driver, take a taxi, or enjoy the beautiful weather by walking home."
Woodstock Police officers will be conducting RIDE programs to try and crack down on impaired drivers.
