Constable Savage will deliver mental health training to all Woodstock Police officers, as the new Community Engagement officer for the service.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service now has a Community Engagement Officer.
This officer is going to work with the Community Response Unit in order to assist with mental health-related calls. They will work closely with MHEART (Mental Health Engagement and Response Team), participate in the Oxford County Situation Table, and deliver crisis intervention training to fellow Woodstock Police officers.
Constable Savage has been appointed to the new role. They first joined the Woodstock Police Service in August 2021 and they had previously worked for the Brantford Police Service, where they worked with people in crisis and those experiencing mental illnesses.
