A recent study has determined women between the ages of 25 and 44 in the London Economic Region are leaving the work force because they believe it's not worth it anymore.
Tricia Flatley, Communications Coordinator with the Local Employment Planning Council says this may be due to lack of resources like transportation or child care.
Flatley adds in other cases women are leaving the work forces because of discrimination.
"A lot of people we talk to said that they couldn't get employed because of a disability or being indigenous or being an immigrant. Just across the board the people we talk to said that there was a lack of respect and appreciation as a big factor making it difficult to work."
Flatley tells Heart FM they are talking to employers in order to try to find ways to get women back to work.
"We're talking to them about developing different strategies to get people back to work and I guess what it would look like."
Oxford County has the highest work participation rate in the London Economic Region while Elgin County has the lowest rate.
