Environment Canada says fresh snow fall and strong winds could make for some tough driving conditions this evening across the region.
Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for this afternoon and evening across the region.
They are warning of lake effect flurries and brief snow squalls that could dump as much 10 centimetres of fresh snow across the region. Snowfall amounts will range from a couple cm to locally as high as 10 cm.
Strong northwesterly winds will also create some havoc as they could whip up the freshly fallen snow and cause very low visibility in some areas.
Motorists should drive according to the road and weather conditions and allow extra time to reach their destination.
The flurries and brief snow squalls will taper off later tonight as winds diminish to light.
