Crews responded to the Food Co. Halal market store on Friday night after the store caught fire.
There was an investigation into the cause, and the Woodstock Fire Department has concluded that a failure of an overloaded electrical outlet caused the fire.

WOODSTOCK - A local business in the Friendly City caught fire.
Crews arrived at the Food Co Halal Market Store at 992 Dundas Street on Friday as the blaze was reported just before 9:10 p.m. There was light smoke showing when firefighters first got to the scene, and they breached the door to investigate. They located the fire and quickly knocked the fire down, and the attached business suffered smoke damage as a result.
The damage is estimated to be $20,000, and the cause is still under investigation.
