People in Oxford can take a special journey to Bethlehem without leaving the county.
A holiday favourite is returning to Crossroad Alliance Church.
After a one year hiatus they are bringing back the Bethlehem Walk. The journey will be taking place at the church on Highway 19 between Ingersoll and Thamesford.
Team member for the Bethlehem Walk Jan Vicars says this is a great way to get into the spirit of Christmas.
"It's a really great way to start off the Christmas season before you get busy with all the shopping and all that Christmas entails for some people. It just reminds you about what Christmas is all about, it's a really fun time, it's also a really thought provoking event."
The Bethlehem Walk is an interactive experience and Vicars says there are many fascinating people to meet along the way.
"With a guide you are led through a candlelit path through the woods where you meet all kinds of people like the wise men who talk to you about the prophecy that brought them to Bethlehem and the star they've been following. You will come across a group of shepherds with their real live sheep and interact with them, and you'll see angels up in the trees singing and talking about the Savior that's been born in Bethlehem."
At the end of the tour people will make their way to the manger.
When the tour has finished people are welcome to enter the church and warm up with some hot drinks and cookies. This is an outdoor event, so everyone is encouraged to dress warmly.
The Bethlehem Walk is taking place on Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26th with tours leaving every few minutes between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. It is a free event.
