The Victoria Day weekend officially kicks off in Woodstock today with the opening of the World's Finest Shows Midway in Southside Park.
WOODSTOCK - The May long weekend is almost here.
It is the unofficial kickoff for summer, and the City of Woodstock will be holding events to ring in the Victoria Day holiday. Manager of Special Events, Kristen Broadhagen says the excitement around the city when it comes to the celebration of Victoria Day is unbelievable.
"We'll have the World's Finest Shows Midway in Southside Park. That will feature multiple carnival rides, ferris wheel, big slide, lots of delicious food, lots of carnival games, and lots of fun to be had."
Broadhagen goes on to mention where you can go to find the costs for the midway.
"So, actually if you visit our website, cityofwoodstock.ca/victoriaday, it does detail all the pricing."
She says tomorrow will be pay one price for unlimited rides, and the cost for that is $35.
The midway will open today at 5:00 p.m. and be open until 10:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. The rest of the weekend is 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m. for tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday will open at 11:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m. or 11:00 p.m., and Monday people can enjoy the rides starting at 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. Times are subject to change based on the weather and how many people are in the park.
