The Upper Thames Conservation Authority is expecting some minor runoff into watershed streams, rivers and ditches today.
With highs expected to reach 6 degrees and rain in the forecast they expecting flows to peak overnight tonight and throughout Wednesday and the water levels will likely remain elevated for the rest of the week.
UTRCA Senior Water Resources Engineer Mark Shifflett says they just want to make sure everyone is steering clear of the water right now.
"We remind everyone to be very cautious near watercourses, and to keep children and pets away. Any ice cover is unstable and thin, streambanks are slippery and the water is very cold."
Right now the forecast is calling for 15-25 mm of rain this afternoon. Shifflett says they are expecting something similar to what we saw in January.
"We expect stream flows to be similar to or less than the flows we saw in the January melts."
UTRCA officials are monitoring the situation, and will report on any changing conditions if necessary.
