Oxford County Pride is looking to choose the 2025 Tyrell Maas Bursary winner.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County PRIDE is well into Pride month celebrations.
There is a bursary that is going to be handed out at their Family Day event. President Tami Murray explains what the bursary is.
"It's our Taylor Maas bursary, and just because the timeline is coming down to this Friday, so we're encouraging students in grade 11 and grade 12 throughout Oxford County to check out that award, it's on our website, www.oxfordpride.ca."
Murray says the winner is not limited to how the money can be spent.
"We don't dictate how the money is used, so if someone wants to use it for books, they can use it for books. Or if somebody wants to use it for something else, gas, etc., cause it's expensive to go to college and university, they can. We don't put a lot of parameters around it."
The Family Day event is taking place Saturday at Museum Square from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you want more information about the bursary or to send in your application, you can click here to go directly to the Oxford County Pride website.
