TVDSB accepting verbal and written input via e-mail.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Thames Valley District School Board is asking for the public's input as they develop the budget for the 2015/2016 school year.
Trustee with the Thames Valley District School Board Graham Hart says a change in enrollment numbers has an effect on the budget.
"There is declining enrolment and because the number of staff - the number of teachers, and support staff is tied to the number of students - there will be some decreases. But our expectation is that because retirements we won't have to lay off teachers particularly because there continues to be declining enrolment."
To make a verbal submission you must complete and submit a public input application by noon on June 1st, once approved you can attend the June 9th meeting.
Hart said transparency is a big part of the process.
"The deadline for presentations is June the first. They just go on the website and click on Budget Input and we'll be delivering the budget on May the 26th.”
“They can watch the streaming of the Thames Valley Board meeting. And then June 9th will be the public input to the board of trustees."
