Seven backbench MPs promoted, several ministers on the move
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is making some big changes to his cabinet.
About two-thirds of portfolios have changed hands after this morning's announcement.
Former Defence Minister Anita Anand is now the president of the Treasury Board.
She'll be replaced by fromer Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair.
Meanwhile, Marco Mendicino is out as Public Safety Minister, after controversy surrounding the transfer of Paul Bernardo.
MP Dominic Leblanc will take over that role.
As well, MP Sean Fraser is now minister of housing, infrastructure and communities.
Experts say the changes are being made to present a refreshed party to voters.
This is the first major cabinet change since the Liberals' election win in 2021.
