Community Employment Services Oxford is hosting two youth targeted sessions to help get more young people working.
Community Employment Services Oxford is getting ready to introduce more people into the working world.
They are getting ready to kick off their next Youth Job Connection session on February 27th and they will have a Youth Job Connection Summer session for students this March Break. Both of the programs provide pre-employment training to those looking for work. Communications Assistant Liz Wismer-Van Meer says participants in both programs will be paid for their time.
"You're going to receive minimum wage while you're doing all of the training and then they are actually going to work with you to find a job placement. It is actually a paid placement as well, so you are paid while you are looking to find a job."
Wismer-VanMeer says if you're interested in either program, you should really stop by their office.
"You do need to meet with a councillor before you can sign up for the program and they do have some qualifications and requirements that you have to meet prior to being accepted."
Youth Job Connection offers sessions on a monthly basis and it is geared towards youth between the ages of 15 to 30.
Youth Job Connection Summer helps students ages 15 to 18 find part time jobs or summer work.
