Thanks to the generous donations of Oxford County residents we were able to completely pack an full size Elgie School Bus with toys and food donations this year.
WOODSTOCK - Heart FM's Stuff the Bus was a huge success this year.
Thanks to the generous donations of Oxford County residents we were able to completely pack an full size Elgie Bus. All of the toys were delivered to the Operation Sharing, CAS and Power of Hope Christmas Place.
Director of the Christmas Place Kathy Gardiner says the donations mean they will have more than enough toys for their kids day distribution tomorrow.
"It's extremely overwhelming, we had no idea this was coming and we always have a little hesitation waiting for kids day tomorrow, wondering if we are going to have enough to get us through. Last year we had over 330 children shopping for families, so we had an average of 1,500 gifts go out yesterday in the span of 5 hours but we are not worried at all now, there is so much stuff that came in today and the kids are going to be really excited."
We were also able to deliver over 2,500 pounds to the Salvation Army Food bank in Woodstock. Between the donations from Stuff the Bus, the Christmas Parade and the Holiday Train, the Food bank's shelves will be stocked for a couple of months.
Stuff the Bus was brought to you by Heart FM, Scott's No Frills, Community Employment Services, Water Depot and Elgie Bus Lines for supplying the bus.
