Students from the seven high schools in Oxford County will be participating.
WOODSTOCK - About 1,200 high school students will pack the Reeves Community Complex this morning for the 22nd annual United Way Student Stair Climb.
Resource Development Coordinator Megan Porter says they will face off in some games on the ice and walk one full lap of the entire Community Complex, up and down the stairs.
"It's fast and furious, it's loud and its fun! We have on ice games and the students do one full tour of the Community Complex going up and down the stairs. We have a great opportunity to engage with youth in Oxford County through this initiative, to talk about the work we're doing in the community and to crown a champion."
Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute (IDCI) has won almost every year, except for 2018, when Woodstock Collegiate Institute (WCI) won the top prize.
Each high school raises funds for United Way Oxford ahead of the Stair Climb. The participating students raised over $34,000 last year alone, and the Stair Climb has raised over $479,000 total over the past 21 years.
