Stover Street in Norwich will be shut down for 3 or 4 months while a new storm sewer is bring installed.
NORWICH - Detours will be set up in Norwich in August when the County does some work on Stover Street.
The work is expected to take about 3 to 4 months and local traffic will be impacted. Supervisor of Engineering Services Frank Gross explains what they will be doing on Stover Street.
"It's a full road reconstruction and a new storm sewer, so the road based on its age is in need of some work and that section is actually a rural cross section meaning it has gravel shoulders and open ditches right now."
Gross says they will have a detour in place and a public consultation meeting will happen before construction starts.
"I believe the detour will be Airport Road to Middletown Line and to Main Street in Norwich."
The work is expected to cost an estimated $1.3 million dollars.
