A local web series is raising funds to land a well known Canadian actor for their season finale.
It's a series loosely based on a woman's experience with death after losing her father to cancer 8 years ago this Christmas.
Stink...a rotten web series is written and directed by Woodstock's Brandy Hewitt.
This series is completely taped in Woodstock and Oxford County and features all local actors, actresses and even the music of local musicians and bands.
Hewitt wrote the show in March of this year and knew it had to be a local production. "I was living in Vancouver at the time when I wrote this and I knew it just had to be shot, in its entirety in Ontario. The landscape, the seasons, the countryside, the farmland, the little local places that I attended when I was growing up like Fritzies and even street corners that I'm sure people are watching the series and their recognizing so much of it and I feel like that's drawing an audience."
Hewitt is working on the season one finale and has managed to land a well-known Canadian actor for the final episode but due to some additional costs, the group are currently soliciting the show and fundraising to make it happen.
The identity of the actor is being held a secret and will be revealed on the finale but for that happen, Hewitt says they must raise some funds. "Because we've been doing the whole thing non-union and just kind of doing it ourselves, it's been pretty cost effective. So now that we're moving, you know taking the next step it is a little pricey. But I think it's worth it, I think the pay off is going to be hilarious."
The group are raising funds through indiegogo until January 6th, 2014. Their goal is set at $5000.
