Southwestern Public Health is reporting 5 new COVID-19 related deaths this morning, including 3 residents at Maple Manor in Tillsonburg and 1 resident at PeopleCare in Tavistock.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health is reporting 5 new deaths this morning with 4 of them at local long term care homes.
Another 3 residents have now passed away at Maple Manor in Tillsonburg and 1 at PeopleCare in Tavistock. After today's numbers, a total of 7 residents have died at Maple Manor and 5 at PeopleCare.
One of the deaths is not related to the outbreaks and was a 49 year old woman from Oxford County. The other deaths from the Long Term Care Homes include an 87 year old man from Oxford, a 96 year old woman from Oxford, an 85 year old man from Oxford and a 94 year old woman from Elgin County.
The Health Unit also confirmed 21 new cases of the virus today and 62 recoveries.
We currently have 16 people in the hospital with the virus, including 3 in the ICU. We currently have 356 active cases with most of them in Tillsonburg, Woodstock, Aylmer and St. Thomas. Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:

The Health Unit is also reporting 10 active outbreaks at long term care homes. The outbreak at the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Tillsonburg has 57 residents who have tested positive for the virus and 41 staff members after the Health Unit confirmed 3 new cases today. The outbreak at PeopleCare in Tavistock now includes 34 residents and 29 staff members after the health unit confirmed 8 new cases today.
