Smith-Leroy Funeral Homes Makes Changes To Surviving Suicide Grief Support Group
WOODSTOCK - Smith-Leroy Funeral Home is making some changes to their Surviving Suicide Grief Support Group.
Grief Supporter Nicole Bruder says The updates won't come into effect until the New Year.
"We ask that people call and register before they attend their first session and the time is going to be from 7pm to 8:30pm."
They get together on the first and third Tuesday of every month, giving people a safe place to talk about their suicide grief.
Bruder says it's a very welcoming environment.
"If it's somebody's first night and they don't feel like sharing their story that's okay. A lot of times people will just sit back and listen, but they seem to walk away with a little more understanding or tips of how others have coped with their suicide grief."
They also talk about suicide awareness, intervention, prevention and bereavement at the meetings. Give the funeral home a call if you would like to register, their phone number is 519-537-3611.
