Woodstock Fire say strong odour in the west end of the city was caused by faulty air filtration sytem.
WOODSTOCK -- A number of residents in the west end of the city reported smelling a strong odour early this morning.
Heart FM received messages from people who said they woke up around 3:30 - 4:00 am to a strong smell of burning plastic, rubber or sulphur. Residents said they had to close their windows because the smell was so potent. Residents in the Southside Park area of the city were also calling in to say they could smell the strong odour as well.
Woodstock Fire say an industrial business in the west end reported having issues with their air filtration system and the smell was coming from the system that separates oil, in turn causing the strong odour.
The business is working on having the issue corrected and the fire department did not need to assist with the situation.
