An upcoming meeting at the Woodstock Moose Lodge is going to take a close look at the provinces Sex Ed Curriculum.
WOODSTOCK - A local pastor is joining forces with a TV personality; to educate local parents, grandparents and guardians about the current sex-ed curriculum.
Pastor Rene McIntyre will join Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson at the Moose Lodge on Tuesday, to talk what's currently being taught in Ontario classrooms.
McIntyre says parents should have the power to decide at what age their children learn about sensitive topics.
"If these are things that we want our children to know then we should be talking to them as having the right to be first educators as parents in our homes."
McIntyre hopes the meeting will prompt further discussion.
"We want them to begin to ask questions of the teachers and be given the opportunity to say 'I want to know what my child is being taught.' If these particular things that the parent may disagree with, if they are going come up in the classroom we want our child to be removed from the class that day and given a separate assignment."
Members of the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and voice their opinions as well.
The meeting will get underway at 7pm.
