Environment Canada says we could be in for thunderstorms today in Oxford County.
OXFORD (UPDATE @ 6pm) - Meteorologists are currently tracking a severe thunderstorm moving toward travelling through Oxford County. This storm could possibly form a tornado.
We might also be in for damaging winds, large hail and intense rainfall. Residents should take cover immediately if they hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris or any other threatening weather conditions. It is recommended that you go indoors to the lowest floor and stay away from outside walls and windows.
If you are in a free standing shelter like a mobile home, vehicle, tent or trailer you should leave it behind and move into a strong building if possible. If you absolutely can’t go indoors, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

OXFORD - It is expected to be a stormy day in Oxford County.
Environment Canada has issued a yellow watch for severe thunderstorms, which could also bring strong winds, torrential downpours and ping-pong-ball-sized hail. It's forecasting for wind gusts between 90 and 110 kilometres per hour.
Environment Canada says it's best to stay inside as much as possible, because lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. However, it is a good idea to secure loose objects so the strong winds don't blow them away. If you have to drive anywhere today, make sure you prepare for difficult road conditions.
Environment Canada says thunderstorms could arrive late this afternoon into this evening in Ontario.
