Jim Northcott files for Municipal election, looking to serve on Woodstock City Council again.
WOODSTOCK -- Woodstock city councillor Jim Northcott will run to keep his job in this fall's municipal election.
Northcott says he believes in supporting economic development and being involved in the community.
But he doesn't have a crystal ball. "You never know what the issues are going to be. The main things on our agenda right now is whether or not we're going to move forward with a sports complex in the north-east side of the city."
Northcott has served two-full terms and part of the term ending in 2006 when he was appointed to replace Jack Dunn on council following his death.
Northcott says his career as a realtor allows him to be flexible with his time in order to take part in meetings. Further to that, he says he enjoys helping residents with their concerns. "I think good governance is a word that has stuck with me over the years. It's many issues -- some things that I might want and some things I don't but taking the time to investigate them and try to make an informed decision -- I think that's important and that's one of the main reasons I'm running again."
