Several scammers online and over the phone have caught the attention of the Brant OPP. They are reminding you to keep your personal info to yourself and never share it.
BRANT COUNTY - Brant County OPP are once again reminding residents to not fall for scammers.
OPP have recently investigated several online and telephone fraudsters who've tried different ways to get personal information from their victims.
With a recent increase in scammers, Brant OPP want to make it clear that fraudster's will try different methods everyday.
Here are some tips on how to better protect yourself:
- Keep personal information safe and confidential to you. Never give it up over the phone, email or internet.
- Don't feel pressured or bullied to cough up personal information
- Protect your PIN (Personal Identification Number) or any other passwords.
- Keep watch over your bank account for unusual transactions.
Brant County OPP want to remind residents that new scams come up everyday and its not easy to spot a scam.
If you suspect that you are a target of fraud, don't be embarrassed - you are not alone.
