Six local businesses were the big winners at last night's Salute to Brant Awards show.
PARIS - Brant County handed out several awards last night at the 18th annual Salute to Brant event.
Director of Economic Development and Tourism for the County of Brant Russell Press says it was a packed house last night.
"This year, we welcomed over 320 local business community members to Salute to Brant. This event provides an evening of networking and celebrating while enjoying locally sourced fine foods and drinks."
Press says the County of Brant created Salute to Brant as a way to thank and acknowledge local businesses for being positive corporate citizens.
"We are honoured to celebrate local businesses who bring diversity, job opportunities and innovation to the County. To all the local businesses, thank you for choosing Brant and for your hard work and dedication."
Six (6) local businesses were chosen for their contributions to the Brant community.
This year’s award recipients were:
- Paris Agricultural Society for the #GoodtimesinBrant Award
- STG Strength and Power for the High Growth Award
- The Raw Carrot Soup Enterprise for the Innovation Award
- Tasty Road Trips Food Tours for the Community Influencer Award
- Browndale Farm for the Agriculture/Agri-Business Award
- Wessuc Inc. for the Sustainability Award sponsored by Brant Municipal Enterprises
The CEO of Aleafia Health, Geoff Benic was the guest speaker at this year's event. .
"It was my pleasure to be part of Salute to Brant. Salute to Brant was the perfect opportunity to announce that Aleafia will be creating 30 new jobs within the County of Brant. Our production facility in Brant has established itself as a global centre of excellence for medical cannabis. This is made possible through the support of the community, and the contributions of our outstanding staff."
