The Town of Ingersoll distributed the glasses last week and they have since been recalled by Amazon.
INGERSOLL - A heads up if you got your solar eclipse glasses at Ingersoll Town Hall.
The town purchased several pairs of glasses off Amazon and handed them them out on Thursday, but they have since been recalled due to safety concerns.
It shared a screenshot of the recall e-mail it recieved from Amazon, and it states the following:
"The product listed above was not included in the American Astronomical Society's list of suppliers of solar viewers and filters and therefore might not be safe for viewing a solar eclipse."
The Town of Ingersoll is also advising against using these glasses.
