Environment Canada says we could see scattered showers and cool temperatures this Friday.
OXFORD COUNTY - You might want to incorporate a jacket and an umbrella into your child's Halloween costume this year.
Geoff Coulson, a warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada, provides us with his forecast ahead of Halloween this Friday.
"A number of the forecast models are indicating scattered shower activity throughout the Woodstock area for Halloween evening along with a brisk wind from the west or north west between 20 and 30 kilometres per hour. It looks like temperature wise we'll be looking at a seasonal 6 or 7 degrees as those trick-or-treaters head out the door."
He adds this is fairly normal for this time of the year.
"Our normal daytime high for this time of the year is about 11 degrees and we're expecting to get to a high of 9 degrees on Halloween this Friday. So by the time the trick-or-treaters head out the door it will a little cooler than that, in the 6 to 7 degree range."
This is very different compared last Halloween where lots of areas saw temperatures close to or above 20. The Weather Spark website says the London International Airport reached a high 21 degrees on October 31st, 2024.
Coulson is also predicting seasonal temperatures throughout the weekend, along with some lingering showers.
