The Province of Ontario confirmed 1,940 new cases this morning and 1,535 recoveries.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,940 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 142,121.
The total number of deaths now sits at 3,972 after the weekend. Meanwhile another 1,535 people have made a full recovery, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 121,563.
The province completed 57,091 tests yesterday. We currently have 857 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 244 in the ICU and 149 COVID-19 patients on a ventilator. At least 40 hospitals in the Province did not report their numbers from the weekend, so the number of people in the hospital with COVID-19 is likely higher than what is being reported today. Most of the new cases are coming from area hotspots with 544 new cases in Toronto, 390 in Peel, 191 in York Region, 134 in Hamilton and 114 in Windsor-Essex County.
