Ontario is reporting 1,546 new cases of COVID-19 this morning and 1,271 resolved cases.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,546 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 332,119.
The Province confirmed another 9 COVID-19 related deaths this morning, bringing the total in Ontario to 7,253. Another 1,271 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 309,849. The Province also confirmed 29 new variant cases over the weekend, this means we now have a total of 1,443 variants of concern confirmed in Ontario, most of them are the B.1.1.7 variant first discovered in the U.K.
The province completed 32,556 tests yesterday. We currently have 868 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 324 people in the ICU and 193 in the ICU on a ventilator. Over half of the new cases today are coming from hot spot regions with 465 new cases in Toronto, 329 in Peel and 161 in York Region.
