The Princeton Park Trail Network has officially opened and it will connect the current park with 5 acres of new land that will be developed in the near future.
PRINCETON - The Princeton Park Trail Network has officially opened. There was a ribbon cutting ceremony held this morning for the 1.3 kilometre trail that connects the existing park with 5 acres of new land which will be developed.
Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman attended the ceremony and tells Heart FM about some of the parks upcoming development projects for the new land.
"It creates new forested areas; it creates a township nursery to provide plantings for other parts of the township."
There will also be a central gathering area by a pond that will be developed.
Hardeman says these developments will really benefit the community.
"It's a wonderful thing, there are so many people in the community supporting it and obviously if the people are supporting it then the community will appreciate it when it's finished."
This is all thanks to an $88,000 grant from the Trillium Foundation Blandford-Blenheim Township received in late 2015.
