WOODSTOCK - It was a very busy weekend for the Woodstock Police who responded to 140 calls for service in the Friendly City.
Calls varied from vehicle entries, domestic disputes, mischief's, theft, collisions and a break and enter to a shed and storage unit. Police did charge three men with trespassing in Arthur Park early Friday morning. They also charged a 44 year old man from Woodstock for breach of probation along with weapons and drug offences.
Police also investigated two telephone frauds and one mail fraud. One of the calls was from a man pretending to work for the Canadian ant-fraud centre. Nobody fell victim this weekend and police are reminding the public to educate yourself and always report fraud. A number of people were picked up on public intoxication charges and in a couple of cases the people needed medical attention because they drank too much in the hot heat.
Another 15 people were given speeding tickets in the Friendly City.
