Poetter Is Prepared

Todd Poetter says with children & grandchildren growing up in Woodstock, he has a vested interest in the City.

WOODSTOCK - The race for Woodstock City Councillor is heating up.

Todd Poetter is the latest to file papers for the position.

Poetter says with grandchildren growing up in Woodstock, he has a vested interest in the City.

"I'm a younger retiree and I have the time and energy to fully investigation all of the items that might come before council in order to make an informed decision. Unlike a lot of the other candidates I have never worked for the City of Woodstock or had any business dealings with the City so I feel I can bring a different voice and a different way of looking at the City's problems."

"I've lived her for 47, 48 years and I just love the city and I've got an opportunity now to try and serve. I consider myself really just an average taxpayer and I just got a keen interest and a love for the city and if the voters feel I deserve a chance, I would love to represent them on council for the next four years."

Poetter says while he feels he would have made some different decisions than the current council, he can't be too critical as they all did what they thought was best for the city and that's all he can do as well going forward.

"I think jobs is always the number one issue. I think bringing business into the City of Woodstock is definitely a priority and I know that council has had some issues that I guess are behind them now. I would put jobs as my number one issue."

Poetter is a former Health and Safety Representative for General Motors and the CAW as well as Owner of Oxford Safety Training and has managed the Woodstock Curling Club for the past five winters.
