Norwich takes series lead. Tavistock battle for the victory.
The first round of the Midwestern Junior C Hockey League playoffs continued Sunday.
The Merchants took a 2-1 series lead over Wellesley, blanking the Applejacks 4-0 in Norwich. The two teams meet again on Wednesday in Wellesley.
Tavistock edged the Firebirds 4-3 in New Hamburg. The Firebirds lead that series 2-1. That series resumes Friday night in Tavistock.
Ayr dominated Burford, downing the Bulldogs 7-3. The Centennials have taken a demanding 3-0 series lead and could wrap up that series Tuesday night in Burford.
