Premier Doug Ford announced today they will be reversing course and keeping playgrounds open.
ONTARIO - Premier Doug Ford announced this afternoon the Province is reversing course on the decision to close playgrounds.
Ford made the announcement via twitter.
Ontario’s enhanced restrictions were always intended to stop large gatherings where spread can happen.
— Doug Ford (@fordnation) April 17, 2021
Our regulations will be amended to allow playgrounds but gatherings outside will still be enforced. Play outside safely. Parents keep your distance & wear masks if you can’t.
The new regulation states that playgrounds, off leash dog parks, park benches, outdoor play structures or outdoor play equipment may stay open.
The Canadian Press is also reporting that the Province is considering getting rid of the stop and question order for Police. Most police forces in the Province have stated they will not enforce the order and will not be stopping random vehicles or individuals including the Woodstock Police.
We will continue to follow this story and provide more details as soon as they become available.
