Plant Looks For Change

Woodstock City Councillor Paul Plant wants to shake things up at the coucil table.

WOODSTOCK -- Paul Plant has stiff competition for the upcoming election.

Plant who has served on Woodstock City Council as a councillor is looking to change things up this election. Plant recently filed his papers to run for the dual city and county councillor position. Running against him are fellow councillors; Deb Tait, Sandra Talbot and Bill Bes.

Over his past term, Plant says he has the opportunity to gain more experience at the municipal level."I've quite enjoyed my four years on the city only position it's had it's high and low points but overall I think we've got a lot accomplished."

Making the move to a dual county/city position, was a decision he made given his experience at other levels of government."I currently work for the province of Ontario, given my multitude of experience at the provincial and municipal level and a little bit at the federal level, internationally and locally I think that I've got a very good idea of how the system works."

Plant said he has a lot left to give,"I still think there is more to be done in the City of Woodstock and there are a number of projects I would like to see continue on such as the Woodall development and the Ottawa situation downtown and development of trails..."
